Ingredients

  • 8 oz full-fat block cream cheese softened to room temperature
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter softened to room temperature
  • 2 cloves garlic finely minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh chives finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp fine sea salt or to taste
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper freshly cracked, or to taste

Equipment

  • 1 Food Processor or Hand Mixer
  • 1 Mixing Bowl
  • 1 Spatula

Instructions

  1. In the bowl of a food processor or a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and softened unsalted butter.
  2. Process or mix with a hand mixer on medium speed until the mixture is completely smooth, light, and airy, about 1-2 minutes. Scrape down the sides as needed.
  3. Add the minced garlic, fresh parsley, dill, chives, salt, and black pepper to the whipped mixture.
  4. Pulse or mix on low speed just until the herbs and garlic are evenly distributed. Do not overmix.
  5. Transfer the cheese to a serving bowl. For best results, cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld before serving.

Notes

Room Temperature is Key: For the smoothest, creamiest cheese, ensure your cream cheese and butter are fully softened before you begin.
Storage: Keep your homemade Boursin in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
